Mack Hagood, Commissioner of Audio Evaluations

Presently residing in Chicago, Mack has lived and traveled widely in Asia. A musician himself, he's also worked as a teacher, writer, satellite uplink operator, dishwasher and dogwalker. He wrote an opinion column for e-zine Delusions of Adequacy, plays guitar in the band Pinetop Seven and is impressario to the masked 60s Asian instro band Red Chamber. Currently working on his MA thesis in ethnomusicology, his hobbies include writing about himself in the third person. He is also the top result when you google "sexual kung fu."

Other Commissioners (Past and Present):

Stuart Ellis, Commissioner of Classic Asian Rocks

He's got his own site, but he merits a title here just for all the cool links and Asian oldies he sends our way. Go to Stu's Radiodiffusion site for free mp3 dusties.

Ann Liu, Commissioner of Chinese Translations

She's an architect, zine-ologist and rock addict living right down in New Orleans. Ann is known to hunt down tasty oldies collections in Taiwanese night markets if you ask her real nice.

Mia Park, Commissioner of Punk Rawk

How to describe the whirlwind that is Miss Mia? She hosts acts like Tortoise, Shonen Knife, The Residents and Alejandro Escovedo and shoots the shit with a rat puppet on Chicago's T.V. dance party Chic-a-go-go, plays with bands Kim and Early Risers, curates a variety night at the Beat Kitchen, registers people to vote and is a founding member of a Korean-American female art gang. Lucky for us, she also writes on punk for FarEastAudio.

Alice K. Kim, Classical Commissioner

Alice is a production editor and freelance writer living in Los Angeles. She's played violin in several orchestras and ensembles.
